The Largest Gold Coin in the World

One of the popular investments with comes to gold investing is through gold coins. There are also other ways to invest in gold aside from gold coins such as ETF, stocks, mutual funds and gold bars.

In the US and other developed countries, it is easier to invest in gold coins because there are many sellers that are selling it. Even in eBay, you can find many sellers who are selling gold coins. In addition, as an investor you can also buy it in some banks offering gold coins and other dealers.

We know that gold coins are much the same as a regular monetary coin in shape and size but not of value. In October 2011, Perth Mint of Australia has unveiled the world’s largest gold coin weighing more than one tonne with 99.99 percent gold.

It measures 31 inches wide and 4.7 inches thick. The value of this largest gold coin is A$50 million. The weight and its purity is guaranteed by the Western Australian government. On one side of the coin, you can see the image of Queen Elizabeth II and on the other side, a leaping kangaroo.
